Today, I had to stand up on a train for my 4-hour journey. Why? Two pregnant women flew into unbridled rage with me over sitting in the priority seating, saying I was selfish. I'm recovering from spinal surgery. FML

And someone else couldn't get up for them? It had to be you and you only?

You should have explained your predicament to them and they probably would have let you sit

Hormones from periods can be really overwhelming, and I've never been pregnant, so I can't imagine how crazy pregnancy hormones can be. I doubt they were being rude on purpose. That sucks though, OP!

People can underestimate how strong female hormones can be. Often times when I'm simply on my period a mere fleeting sad thought can overwhelm me with emotion so strongly that I can breathe and I want to sob uncontrollably. Pregnancy hormones? I'm good! And OP doesn't mention if he told them about the surgery or not.

Um. Its both. YDI because you should have told them that. But FYL because thats gotta hurt.

You are disabled. Last time I checked choosing to get pregnant wasn't a disability. Tell them to take their fat asses and **** off.

you just could not get off the train and wait for another one to avoid confrontations? otherwise you did good

I can't judge the pregnant women based on the information only because when I was pregnant with my last baby I bled my whole pregnancy and delivered a premature baby. Never know what could be happening that you can't see.(like in his case a spinal surgery.)

I would not have gotten up.-. Just cause a woman is pregnant doesn't mean she can be bitchy-_-

lol so because you can handle it every woman can right? pregnancy doesn't vary at all amirite? and oh sure since they're out and about that means they can stand some more nevermind they could very well be on their way home from working an 8 hour shift on their feet. not everyone can afford bedrest sweetheart and have to work. what they did was wrong yeah. but as someone also 9 months pregnant, I can't stand on transit. I haven't been able to since I got pregnant, it makes me sick everytime, and I've fallen a few times cause my balance isn't as great. especially after an 8 hour shift. unfortunately I'm not always able to avoid it because of this thing called life.

why didn't you sit on the floor instead ? people do that when trains are crowded

Sitting on the floor is very bad if you have back problems

This is why I always carry headphones and a collection of loud incessant music. Yelled at or not they had no more right than you, you should have explained your surgery issues and not moved your ass an inch. I hate people who demand things; there's no need to be so ignorant even if you're pregnant -_-
