Today, I had to walk three miles home from work. Both my parents were at home. The reason they wouldn't collect me is apparently because I've "gotten so fat, your grandma cried after she saw you". FML

YDI for whining about 3 miles. Back when I was in middle school and high school, I walked home almost every day. Over 5 miles. Didn't whine once. Oh, and now when I'm in college, I walk 2 miles to classes and 2 miles back home every day.

Can't you afford a car? I mean exercise is good and all but walking miles outside ain't exactly fun in this weather.

and I walk 10 miles to work!! uphill in both directions!! through 5 feet of snow!! wearing only sneakers and thin socks!! get a bicycle. it will make your 2 mile commute all of 10-15 minutes.

Ahm, there's no such thing as uphill in both directions.

Uphill then downhill. On the way back there's a downhill from the uphill on the way there so that's the uphill on the way back. Did that clear things up? Probably not...

This sounds like my dad's "Back when I was a young boy" stories.....

59, Then they didn't tell the truth, its not all uphill to work then...

It's a joke 53. Older people, usually grandparents, say that to the younger generation when they whine about something or other.

How many more exclamation marks would 45 have to add before it's clear to you that it was a joke?

I probably could afford to buy a car, but not the upkeep. And I don't really fancy the idea of being stuck in traffic jams every morning. And because of the jams, walking gets me there quicker than a car would. As for a bike - I do have one. But cycling through snow and other stuff is not particularly fun. #61 - I believe I'm a bit too young to tell that kind of stories, being 20 years of age :)

Yea but thats you, i think the OP was thinking its a hassle walking from working to home, and who knows she couldve been tired, cuz i would be and considering her parents are sitting on their fat asses when they could be giving her a ride home after a stressful day of work.

#123: how are they obligated to pick her up? she has a job yet cannot in any way provide for her own transport that she can't even walk without complaining. i don't care how much she works, being that reliant is just pathetic.

Atleast you got a killer workout!

If three miles counts as killer, then I must be on the most strenuous regime on the planet.

Sooky bitch. boo ****** hoo... 3 miles? Do it every day and you won't be such a disappointment to your family.
