opherehehhehe tells us more.
The speech took less than 2 minutes, it was a brief message thanking everyone for coming and how me and my husband greatly appreciate it. The party was the only way to gather my whole family. A dinner reservation would cost hundreds of dollars considering the size of my family. My brother just led my mother out and we carried on. Yes, we did supply a little wine but be didn't want a lot of alcohol considering I am pregnant and I don't want anyone drunk. Just clearing it up (:

Congrats on your pregnancy :D sorry about your mom though :/ but you should just be happy that you are bringing a human into this world :D
Hilarious!!
Maybe she wanted to drink all the booze before you could have mistakenly had some for the sake of your baby.
Why are you holding a speech about getting pregnant anyway? No wonder people were bored. Just yell out "Oh by the way Im pregnant!"
That just makes it seem like she doesn't care about her baby.
I'm sure that when the baby comes he or she's most fond memory will be of that wonderful speech held in honor of conception! But no really... A speech is wildly unnecessary.
That would seem so flippant towards her new child. If i were preggers, i would definitely throw a party to tell everyone, even though it would be a small one. Her speech could have been 30 second for all we know. Not all speeches are long.
Troll (soon to be) grandma strikes again!
Oh no. That is blind.
that's when you beat her with a bottle and blame the pregnancy hormones.
Love you too, mom!

She's just looking out for the health of your baby. Now that you can't consume your alcohol, your mom just wants to remove it from your home for safety's sake. You are blessed to have a mom who will "take one for the team!"
Evil grandmother: check. Alcohol fueled lifestyle: check. Beginnings of a Disney film: check. Now for the plot to unfold.
