Today, I helped a nice middle-aged lady pick out a sweater. She then opened her changing room door to ask for my opinion. I still don't understand why she had to take everything else off to try on a sweater. FML

She probably did it because she wanted the sweater to be the main focus and if she was wearing everything else, it would take your focus away from the sweater.

At least it was a sweater and not a pair of underpants...

She wanted to show you the goods.

Are you telling me you're not supposed to try clothes on that way? Now I understand all the funny looks I get in clothingstores....

I think we all have learned an important lesson today...

Maybe it was not about the sweater that she wanted an opinion?

Yes, but it was mostly because of menopausal flashes.

I really wish your sex was given on this FML...oh well maybe follow up will tell me... It could have been worse...believe me...

Aren't fitting rooms generally split by sex? I assumed when reading this that OP either worked in the shop so would likely be female if in a female fitting room, or was a fellow customer, so would also be female. Most fitting rooms I've been in don't even let your boyfriend/husband/male friend in for you to ask their opinion on clothes. I've seen a huge fight kick off in a store where a woman asked her husband to come into the fitting room to ask their opinion on an outfit. It also means that if, like me, you prefer clothing from shops like Topman, they won't let you try it on in the store. I either have to shop in stores that have both male and female fitting rooms and try menswear on in the female fitting room, or just take the clothes home and bring them back for a refund if they don't fit. In the UK, certainly, shops are pretty strict about stopping men going into women's changing rooms, and vice versa.

Men aren't allowed in female fitting/change rooms in some stores because some people decided it was a good idea to express their spontaneity and have sex. And if you're asking yourself 'that question'... The answer is yes.

i bring my boyfriend into fitting rooms with me. I don't give a shit. only once have we... expressed our spontaneity.

Just be thankful she only tried on a sweater and not, say, a pair of socks... :P

Nobody deserves that, Unless she was hot. In that case, High-five Bro!

Saw this happen like 2 days ago at Target hahaha, picked the wrong time to try on a work shirt
