Today, I just found out my dad got remarried a year ago. The woman is officially living with us, I got to have lunch with her alone today. I found out she is only 22, with a 14 year old little brother. My dad's 47. I'm 17, now with a 14 year old uncle and a mom that can pass for my girlfriend. FML

Well, my dad is 46 and he is dating a 17 year old. My brother is the same age as her, infact my dad met her because my brother and her were friends. Yeah, I'm the fourteen year old in this story. Still, it's not that bad.....unless she's a bitch.

Why is it people always assume that a young woman dating an older man is always either a gold digger or someone with severe emotional issues? It seems to me that conservatism, even in today's world, is still extremely prevalent. Did it ever occur to anyone what all of that "love is blind" stuff really meant? It means, loves sees no race, religion, age, gender, etc.... it has nothing to do with anything so superficial. Yes, I've dated older men, I've also dated men my own age. When it comes to deciding who I'm going to spend my time with, I don't care what they look like, as long as they make me happy. I just wish others could open their minds just a bit and not be so quick to judge. It seems hate still derives from fear of the unknown...

Technically, he's not your uncle. And not all women who date older men are gold diggers. My boyfriend is 37, his son's are 17 and 11. I'm 21. I'm not a gold digger. I actually thought he was lying about his age when he told me he is 37. I still love him just the same. And my youngest sibling is 16.....so kinda similar to your situation I suppose.
