Today, I learned that I have a sinus infection, ear infection and bronchitis so bad it was on the verge of pneumonia. My work won't let me call in sick. I work with kids. Lovely. FML

And then I bet they'll also say "WHY DID YOU COME INTO WORK SICK? THINK OF THE CHILDREN!!"

That's a great way to run a company, don't think about the workers or the customers

That's illegal. They cannot force you to work or fire you because your sick

Well I'm an honors student in jeopardy of failing my courses because of bronchitis but I actually have pneumonia and I can't leave my house because it's freezing

Wow, a week ago I got pneumonia, and thought THAT was bad...

That's against the law. Just tell them you'll sue if they won't let you take leave, and if they still refuse then you'll be rich.

Places like that suck :( Hope you feel better soon! My best friend worked for a company that did allow for sick time, but you had to schedule it the day before (which is the stupidest thing ever). So, one weekend, she started feeling crappy and went to an Urgent Care where she was diagnosed with swine flu (this was during the swine flu epidemic several years back), but she still had to go to work on Monday. Halfway through the day, she went to talk to her supervisor and let him know that she wouldn't be coming in the next day since she had swine flu. He freaked out and sent her home immediately. Shortly after, they revised their sick leave policy.

Legally you can't go to work with bronchitis.

I've never heard of that and have worked with it before.

Pneumonia can be deathly for kids. Get a doctor's excuse to mis for a few days.

"Viral Sinus Infections. The respiratory viruses that cause colds, flu, and sinusitis are spread mostly via hand-to-hand contact. Therefore, they are contagious." "Acute bronchitis is contagious if it is caused by either a virus or bacteria. These germs may be present in mucus that can be spread through coughing or sneezing" "No, the bacteria inside the ear causing the infection is not contagious. However, the cold virus that can lead to an ear infection is contagious." FYI

Thats dangerous for the kids though. Its one thing if an adult gets that but for kids its a hell of a lot more serious and dangerous. Very irresponsible of your managers.

I won't go in anyway I will feel bad of I get one of the kid sick and I feel bad for you
