I hope this doesn't create tension between you and your sibling either since this is the few times you'll really need each other. My step dad tried to convince me that my mother cared more for my brother than me once and I had all kinds of resentment directed towards the wrong people, i.e. mother and brother and not him.

Well, it's nice that he loves his step daughter as if she was his own but he should feel the same for his biological daughter too

That is so sad OP, I feel so sorry for you. If my parents got a divorce they wouldn't choose between my sister and I. They would each want us. I hope it all works out. And if worse comes to worse your dad is a heartless bastard and he can pack his crap and get out of your life. If someone doesn't want you or choses someone over you then they don't deserve you.
