If you don't get motion sickness, a long bus ride is a time that you can consistently dedicate to reading your texts. I found it to be good time economy.
OP, those are tough choices, but I vote for the car/ bike option - unless you live where there's lots of summertime rain and/or cold winter snow, then it's the tiresome bus. :-( Perhaps you could post online at school or on a physical bulletin board at the Union looking for another student that you could ride with who passes by the $100 parking lot each way daily. 2 Add'l Options: Does your school have equestrian posts for tying up your horse? Get a husky dog to pull you on your little red wagon each way per the $100 lot. Yes, I'm (sorta) kidding.... ;-) Hope this last part at least gives you a little chuckle/ smile. :-) Best of luck to you!!!
Time to be fit!!!
you could try finding a friend who has the same schedule as you and carpool with them, might be the cheapest option. should still have a backup plan just in case they end up bailing.
$900 per semester is outrageous. It only costs $60 a semester here. I'm sorry you're faced with such a decision. I too would go for the bus option. The bus will always be reliable. Out of the weather. Don't have to find parking. Still get some exercise.
I did the hour bus ride when I was in school, it wasn't bad but bring music. Most schools give discounts for bus. Parking is stressful in itself, there were never good spots at certain times so it wasn't worth the time. I rode my bike 2 miles back and forth for 2 years, it's good exercise but isn't always easy when it comes to weather.
$200 is the best deal IMO because an hour is not that bad (either sleep or study on the bus). I used to commute to school and work for 3 hours a day and I spent $200+ a month for it. The $900 is definitely not worth it and the $100 is not a good choice unless you live somewhere where there is no such thing as winter (unless there is an underground passage to get to class) and your classes don't start at like 7 a.m. and end at like 11 p.m.
