Today, I left my wallet on the train again. You'd think I'd be extra careful after losing it once. That's 3 times this year. FML

Hey guys op here! Still no sign of the wallet, had no cash in it fortunately but replacing the cards is a hassle. First time i lost it, some old lady handed it into the bank. One of the train cleaners gave me a call after i lost the second one. Hoping 3rd times the charm? I'm a 20 year old uni student and it takes me about 2hrs to get to and from uni. Basically i live on trains. I've never lost my wallet prior to this year though! Some of you might be saying how could you lose it again!? Well, i think i was too preoccupied trying to text this girl i really like... until it dawned on me when i changed platforms. The sudden realisation as you furiously check your bag is the worst. Looks like i'm investing in a chain wallet from now on:) I'll let you all know if it magically appears(hopefully). If you guys find a black wallet with a bunch of cards give me a heads up! haha

Man I think you should invest in a chain wallet...

Change which pocket you wear it in to the front, or attach a chain. You might have someone targeting your wallet

I'm trying to figure out what are these situations you're in, that you even need to take out your wallet on the train so frequently...

Maybe they are paying for the ticket on the train since they don't want to wait in line at the train station.

Or maybe they aren't taking their wallet out at all but it's slipping out of their pocket. Some pants/trousers have shallow pockets.

Everyone seems to be missing the most obvious solution: Buy a car. You're welcome.

Not everyone can afford a car, between insurance, gas, and if you need to make car payments, the cost adds up. Some people aren't even allowed to drive, if you have certain medical conditions, they won't allow you to have a license, or your insurance is incredibly high. Also, some people just don't like driving, one of my dad's cousins is in her 40s and still takes transit because she is paranoid to drive on her own.

Some people can't just run out to the backyard and pluck a few Benjamins from the tree.

Why do you keep taking it out of your pocket and laying it down? Definite YDI

Sounds more like pick- pockets to me... Stay off the train

You really need to be more careful with your wallet. Sorry to pile on, but you either need a chain wallet or to put it in a different pocket.

Get into the habit of looking around before you leave the room to make sure you didn't leave anything.

I ALWAYS do this. mostly because I get nervous that I COULD leave something, but not necessarily because I've forgotten things before.
