Today, I left my wallet on the train again. You'd think I'd be extra careful after losing it once. That's 3 times this year. FML

Hey guys op here! Still no sign of the wallet, had no cash in it fortunately but replacing the cards is a hassle. First time i lost it, some old lady handed it into the bank. One of the train cleaners gave me a call after i lost the second one. Hoping 3rd times the charm? I'm a 20 year old uni student and it takes me about 2hrs to get to and from uni. Basically i live on trains. I've never lost my wallet prior to this year though! Some of you might be saying how could you lose it again!? Well, i think i was too preoccupied trying to text this girl i really like... until it dawned on me when i changed platforms. The sudden realisation as you furiously check your bag is the worst. Looks like i'm investing in a chain wallet from now on:) I'll let you all know if it magically appears(hopefully). If you guys find a black wallet with a bunch of cards give me a heads up! haha

Man I think you should invest in a chain wallet...

Change which pocket you wear it in to the front, or attach a chain. You might have someone targeting your wallet

Before I cast Internet judgment I'd ask for some more information, OP. Are you taking your wallet out and setting it down? Is your wallet being stolen from your pocket? Is your wallet falling out of your pocket? I'm with the folks who suggest chain wallet.

Easily distracted? Able to do more than one thing at a time? Maybe even late constantly? All symptoms of a lean towards dyslexia, ADD or ADHD,... or any number of 'issues' (not calling them disorders). The trick is to prepare well in advance - put your wallet, keys, whatever in the same place ALL the time. If it's time management issues too - prepare twice or three times earlier than you think you need to. There are many other little tricks we can use to not rely on our unreliable awareness to make life easier. Even if a label doesn't apply to you little practices can make a huge difference. Good luck

My ex boyfriend had the same issue, but with his smartphones. While I was dating him, he finally decided to invest in a smartphone, which cost him $400. Two weeks later we decide to go to a mall about an hour out of town. We sit down on a bench mid-way through our shopping and since he put his phone in his back pocket, he'd pull it out and set it aside to sit down so he wouldn't crush it. Well, here's the problem. He forgot to pick it back up and put it in his pocket when we got up to leave. The same thing happened a month later. He was on a bus heading to school that time around. After the first incident, he said he'd get a clip for his phone, but never did, as he later stated that clips were 'ugly'. Hope he learned his lesson the second time around.

Op here again! No idea how to use fml so I'm going to reply to myself Went into the bank to cancel my credit card and they told me someone handed in my wallet to the police station a couple hours away!! **** yessss!!!

Hi OP! I'm still a little confused here. Do you just hold onto your wallet for the whole 2 hours? Why does texting a girl affect anything? normally people don't have to keep tabs on their wallets, what with them being in your pocket and all that... Maybe community college is more your speed

a.) nothing wrong with community colleges, get over yourself asshole. b.) it can be very easy to lose track of things especially if it falls out of your pocket or something, as well as the fact that things you carry all the time are easy to lose because you just get used to them being there. c.) Texting girls can affect literally everything... it'll distract you and keep your mind from focusing. d.) What OP does and how he handles it are his decisions, if he did indeed decide to carry it then so be it, sometimes wallets can be uncomfortable as hell in your pocket, especially your back pocket when you're sitting.

I have a HORRIBLE habit of just walking away from my things. For the last decade or so it's become second nature to look back at wherever I left to make sure I have everything, even if I know damn well I left the house with nothing but the object currently in my hand. It doesn't hurt to check when there's no reason, but it hurts LOADS when you don't check and there is reason. I've probably left at least $100 of freshly purchased items at bus stops. One time I even left my bus pass on the bus.

You are the target audience for the wallet chain.. Unfortunately, the 90s kid gangsters got there first and thought it looked cooler to chain one belt loop to another.

Were you on your way by any chance to buy some new womens underwear?

Haha is this a connection to another FML

Haha yes, I was hoping there was someone who would get it :D

If money means so little to you, sent it to me LOL!!!

Hate to break it to you, OP, but "insanity" is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. YDI

Except for nearly every day that year op didn't lose their wallet, so if we're going by that ill-fitting quote then op did get different results from doing the same thing.

Get a chain and hook it to you so you won't loose it anymore

I never understood how people lose things.

Why don't you put it in your pocket or on a chain or something? Sheesh, I hope you don't carry anything valuable in there, but considering it's a wallet, well, you're screwed.
