I'm an adult and studied under a woman who has been oil painting her whole life and learned her old master technique from a world famous painter, etc. One of my classmates is a high-school boy who is very talented. he made a self portrait of himself in armor with a sword. It was glorious. He entered it into his school's art competition and lost to a sculpture made out of trash. Believe me when I tell you that stupid contests like that do not matter. Except when you win, then they matter a lot!

Talk a out a sore loser, but try not to over think things and put more soul into it next time.
