Today, I’m in Mexico for six months to discover a new culture, bathe in Tequila and Mezcal, meet loads of new people and travel as much as possible. I’ve found somewhere to live, but as for the rest… I’m living with nuns. FML

Have fun, but stay safe, OP Mexico is a beautiful country, but right now it's not a safe place to travel to/in

That's not necessarily a bad thing, it can be very interesting to see their way of living, and they might turn out to be way cooler than you expect. I stayed with nuns in India for a while during a study abroad-program, and it was genuinely one of my more interesting travel experiences, they were nice and surprisingly funny ladies and I felt like I had more of an intercultural exchange experience than if I would've only met people who have a lifestyle comparable to mine. And if it really doesn't work out, you can always look for another place to stay, right?

Go have fun! Nun-thing should stop you!

You want a six-month vacation? Pay for it.

Nuns do have a stringent policy against travelling and intercultural exchange.

You're living with nuns, not becoming one. Unless you were planning on hanging around your place all day (in which case, why bother travelling at all?), I don't see why this should really make a big difference in your experience.

well having found somewhere to live after you arrived in Mexico kinda makes it seems like you didn't plan this trip out very well... YDI but who knows you might like the nuns and you can do whatever you want when you out and about

Well thats crappy. Tequila in Mexico sounds amazing.

If you're planning to be somewhere for 6 months, I figured preemptive living arrangements would've been a good thing to plan.
