Today, I'm pretty sure my sister is being catfished. Now I have the choice of either telling her and risking her staying with her abusive husband or letting her think her new "boyfriend" is a good guy who didn't just "accidentally" send me a shower picture. FML

mbbcjuliet tells us more.

This is my post. I didn't have enough characters to fully explain. My sister is married to a verbally abusive guy who she has been trying to leave for a while but hasn't had the courage. They have 3 kids together. She met this guy on line and started talking to him as friends which developed into more. I don't agree with her cheating but that is a lesser point for me. I've tried to do some research on this guy and keep finding lies in what he is telling my sister. That is why I think he is catfishing her, not because of the picture. I have his number because she asked me to text him to say her phone had broken and she was getting a new one. He started flirting with me almost immediately, which is how I "accidentally" got a picture of him just out off the shower. I'm trying to help her move out on her own but I don't like her thinking this is a good guy. Thus my dilema.

She needs to let go of both guys . Obviously it's going to be a problem no matter what you do. Your sister is cheating , I understand why but things can lead to bad things in both situations. how does a shower picture mean she's being catfished?

Get her away from both. It may be difficult but that's the only way

It was a shower pic of Terry Crews's body.

I don't understand this one, so who is the bf? And why does he have your number, and how do you know its her bf that sent the pic?

I must commend you for regaining your composure so quickly after seeing a shower pic. The contours of the shower head… and the glistening tiles below are enough to keep me in a stupor of arousal for days. I bought a shower curtain to keep myself from getting lost in its soaking wet allure…

This needs a follow up. Can't help but feel that a lot info is missing

Agree with #8. Catfishing is when someone lies about their identity while meeting ppl online, sometimes with fake pics and everything. If this is happening, how does he have your email or phone number to send you pics? If he is somebody she knows IRL, then he's not a catfisher, just a dick. Either way, she needs to get away from both of them.

A person can be catfished by someone they know IRL. If the online person pretends to be someone they're not they are catfishing.

She has a third option: break up with that asshole boyfriend, divorce the abusive husband and live happily and peacefully. Why does she have to be with either of the guys?

It's not really that simple with abusive relationships. The abuser tries to make you feel that no one else would be with you, that you deserve to be treated like this, that no one would love you. Feeling this way makes them less likely to leave. To have a person that shows someone WILL love them and show they don't deserve abuse could help a lot. Finding out they are a dick could bring back the feeling of what's beat into their heads by the abuser and they don't want to be alone or feel they deserve it. Op is in a very hard spot..
