You must've had towels before you became broke, that you can use now. I'd get it if you didn't have food, internet, money to pay your bills or bus fares, but towels? Even if you don't already own a towel, which I find very weird, lots of people have a bunch of old towels - ask if you can adopt some. If I told my parents I had somehow lost all my towels and was too poor to get new ones, I'm sure they'd hand me a couple of their old, less-than-nice-but-never-the-less-useful towels.
