Today, I managed to convince the girl of my dreams to stop being so shy, and put herself out there to get her crush to make a move. It worked. And yet as it turns out, I'm not her crush after all. FML

Here's the skinny from somebody who has "been there, done that", OP. Stop wasting your time trying to make girls make the move on you because if it works, it works great - However, if you get a really shy girl you'll develop far too much of a connection to her with your time invested than she has developed with you. This is ok if the feeling is mutual but if it's not you'll be completely crushed by somebody that shouldn't mean much to you in the first place. Instead, PUT YOURSELF out there and make the move quickly. . .If she turns you down no harm done to you, AND, the added bonus of you not caring so much because you have no time invested. Now, I'm not saying go out there and ask every girl out on the street out just because the word know isn't as devastating as you think but I am saying you can't go out there putting all your time and effort into girls based off silly assumptions.

You know what YDI for once I'm actually saying YDI! Guys always try and do this to me. Quit being scared because scared gets you no where AS YOU FOUND OUT. Balls out and speak up. If she rejects you, move on. But don't try to pussyfoot a confession of love out of someone, that's so weak. And we know what you're doing. And it's terribly un-appealing. If you really like someone they're either worth making a move or they're not. It's that simple. In life if you want something you go for it, and if you don't become proactive in obtaining it, you obviously don't want it bad enough-enjoy watching someone else swoop up on it. Take your experience and learn from it. You'll get lucky sometime. Everyone does. Goodluck deary. And remember girls don't want to date a pussy, if they did they'd be lesbian, in which case you wouldn't have a chance anyway. Happy day & good luck!

eh, maybe not. he coulda tried before, but she didnt see it, or he was too nervous. it really sucks. but it sounds like if he had to convince her to make a move on her crush, then she saw him as one of her girlfriends anyway.

Totally wish I looked at it earlier this morning cuz on the high school cuz the girl of my dreams was sleeping on my lap and I really wanted to wake her up but I've been waiting for this moment for life and I decided to wake her up at my stop take her home and let her rest on my bed 4 an hour and I asked her out... she said yes 

I hope you've learned your lesson: don't wait for the girl to make the first move - that's cowardly and defeatist! Do things to impress her don't just "hope she likes you". Men need to learn to be men. Respectfully not womanisingly of course. Learn this and score yourself an awesome girl next time!
