Perhaps that's why your mum kept you away from him? Because she could treat you with respect that he couldn't.
When I first met my father he put on a nice face for a while and I actually liked him. He left me, then said I left him. After I was hospitalized for a bad car accident. You aren't missing much, be thankful you saw first hand what kind of person he is.
To the op I feel you since I'm adopted too I hope meeting my birth family doesnt go bad as yours *hugs*
wow op sorry to hear that but if that was your very first time meeting him..maybe he got druck because he was afraid to handle a situation like that(not excusing it)..but try to forgive him and maybe one day give him another chance it will be better for your life at least for your heart and peace of mind
My bio daddy is a d*if I too. He is drunk 24/7 (unless he's broke). He don't work, is verbally abusive, and always mooches money off of me (well he tries to anyway). That's why I adopted my best friends parents as my own. I have lived with my "adoptive parents" for years and even introduce them as my biological parents to people I meet. I feel for you OP, I understand how you must feel.
Things like this just show you that sometimes not having your biological parents in your life is a blessing in disguise.
I believe your mother left your father for a very good reason. Take this as a blessing in disguise to find out early into the relationship than later.
Seems like he wasn't in your life for a reason OP. I am so sorry that it turned out like that. I know those feels :(

Witty response? None. That sucks ass and I know from experience how disappointing that is.
What a rubbish father. I wouldn't bother ever talking to him Again.
