Today, I missed my University entrance exam because of heavy traffic. I was stuck at one intersection for over an hour. The real kicker? It took me less than 10 minutes to drive home. FML

He's in a ******* car, you're saying he should have just gotten out and left it there? Just read what #22 and #27 said.

I am assuming you drive because you are a lazy arse, and not because you have some disability. If that is really the case, let's face it... You couldn't manage to learn to ride a bike, are you sure university isn't a bit too challenging? I am sure there's some other jobs you could try... Mc Donald's comes to mind, and since you don't exercise you are probably fat anyway, so you have nothing to lose

are you ******* serious? you really expect people to bike 10, 20, 40 miles around the metroplex instead of driving a car and getting there in 1/10th of the time and not arriving exhausted and drenched in sweat?

Dude you're a ******* moron...the point of driving is to cover long distance in short time periods in comfort. It takes me 40 mins to commute to work, but it's 35 miles away too. Cycle 70 miles a day, let me know if you last a week...not to mention all that extra time commuting...arrogant, self-righteous twat

that must be so frustrating being stuck in traffic while ur missing an exam. and if it takes ten minutes to go home, y couldnt u walk? it'll probably take about 15-20 minutes. not so bad

A 10 min drive does not equal a 15 min walk. I don't know about you, but I don't know a lot of ppl who can walk 50 kph. And to those who say he deserves it for not planning ahead.....he was stuck for an HOUR at one intersection. While he should have been there early in case of traffic, it's a bit unreasonable to expect him to be at his exam several hours beforehand (especially if it's a 7am exam) just in case something insane happens. Nobody plans for a traffic jam of over an hour. And to the rest of you who say he should have gotten out and walked.....and what? Leave his car sitting in the middle of the road? So he can come out of his exam and not only have to pay a huge fine to get his car out of the impound lot, but also the huge ticket that will come with it? F all your lives for being idiots, you bunch of morons. I hope you get a re-write OP. :)

a 10 minute drive is a longer walk than you'd think. or bike ride, for that matter. a 10 minute drive can be 4-40 miles, if you think about it. depending on if you take an interstate or local roads, uphill or downhill inclines. there' much to consider before you go with something like 'get off your lazy ass' or 'go buy a bike' . hell, the 10 minute drive to my school back in the day was an hour an 45 mins to a 2 and a half hour walk home. just saying.

I am amazed how stupid people insulting OP are. Quite frankly being stuck in one spot for over an hour shows that he left more than early enough to get there on time. I am baffled that you don't realize a 10 minute drive averaging 25mph, which is more than a reasonable assumption, is between 4 and 5 miles. As for using a bike, it might have helped, but maybe he wanted to get there quicker to mentally prepare so he got in a car, then lo and behold, he got screwed for trying to be responsable. Sorry dude, better luck next time.

Wow there are a lot of retards on here. As someone who lives in a city with very heavy traffic, I can honestly say that there's no way you can really plan for "unusually heavy traffic" that has you sitting there for an hour. Unusually heavy traffic is usually caused by an accident or something else you can't really be notified of ahead of time. And for those saying that the OP should have taken a bike or walked don't know jack. What was the OP supposed to do? Got out and left their car in the middle of the road. And if the OP had to take a highway to his destination he wouldn't have been able to take a bike anyway, since they're not allowed on highways (maybe in Australia they are. I don't know.) Either way, a short drive in a car does not mean a short ride on a bike. OP, that really sucks. Maybe they'll let you make it up. Heavy traffic can be so frustrating. :(

Bad planning fail. I hope you work at wal-mart forever, idiot. Always plan ahead!!

i think its funny how people take the time to respond to comments with paragraphs? wtf is this a report? no

I agree with the people who say you should have just ditched your car. OOH a big fine. OOH a ticket. This is your ******* Uni entry exam. It's worth it.

That's why you're supposed to leave "early" and not just "on time."
