Today, I missed work because I was at the hospital getting treated for accidentally inhaling chlorine gas. I didn't realize that using Comet Industrial Strength Cleanser to scrub out a cat litter pan could be so hazardous. FML

Today a gasoline canister leaked in our work garage and filled my office with fumes. It got me high and nauseous even though I went out for air constantly. I had a meltdown and was sent home. I'm still high. FML

Today, I got industrial toilet cleaner in my eyes. Despite the raging fire party going on behind my eyelids, I resisted the urge to stop, drop, and roll, and calmly got in the shower to wash it off. Today, I was cleaning my bathroom, and accidentally spilled bleach, ruining my shower curtain, rugs, and towels. While attempting to wipe up the bleach, I knocked over a bottle of shower cleaner. It read, "WARNING: DO NOT MIX WITH BLEACH." I still can't go in the house. FML

Today, I was working in a call center when I smelled perfume. I'm allergic, and it triggered my asthma. When I came back, some jerk had sprayed it all over my work area. I couldn't go near it for the rest of my shift, therefore I had to go home early, and got my paycheck docked. FML

Today, I found out how acidic some of the chemicals I work with are. After a chemical shower, minor burns, and having to throw away my clothes due to a biohazard, I had the pleasure of running across the parking lot to my car, wearing only a lab coat around my waist. FML

the cleaner had bleach and the cat urine that was in the litter box had ammonia......bleach + ammonia = chlorine gas = u in hospital

Cleaner = bleach Urine = Ammonia. Bleach + Ammonia = Chlorine gas NaOCl = sodium hypochlorite (bleach) Cl = chlorine NaOCl + 2HCl → Cl2 + NaCl + H2O Cl2 = chlorine gas sorry bout your luck

if it was chlorine...you'd be on life support...i had a bottle of chlorine explode in my face while deployed to iraq....life support for 48 hrs and have really bad asthma...

@ #35, having a bottle of pure chlorine explode in your face is pretty different to inhaling fumes as they are converted from a cleaning product via chemical reaction...

it depends on how much chlorine you inhale. i inhaled some chlorine when my science teacher did an experiment and the lid fell off a container full of chlorine gas that the reaction was taking place in. I spent 10 minutes outside coughing but other than that was ok!

yea that kind of exposure was normal for me...but it was 135 degrees outside and the fumes built up pressure from the powder chlorine which was 65% sodium hydroxide...and when i opened it up...the fumes fit my face cause a series of events from puking blood...fluid filling my lungs....i was medevaced and put on 24 hrs life support...
