Today, I moved in with my new dorm mate. I'm prone to very frequent panic attacks that can only be alleviated by cold air. My roommate is severely anemic, and has violent shivering fits when the temperature is below 80. No matter what, one of us is always shaking uncontrollably. FML

Chuffberry tells us more.

OP here. on the preference sheet for the dorm rooms, i put that i have anxiety attacks, and my roommate put that they have anemia, but they don't sort you on your illnesses, they sort you on personality. Other than the temperature thing, we get along great.

Cab you get a portable fan or air conditioner for your room?

So your roommate has violent fits when the temperature is below 80, and yet he/she goes to school in Colorado? Makes sense

Tell your room mate to start taking iron supplements...

I'm pretty sure if it was that easy it would have been done they most Likely have sickle cell anemia

Maybe OP should try meditation to help with the panic attacks... it's worth a shot.

Judging on your writing I'm guessing you never went to college at all..

it's gonna be a very miserable college life for you

80° has to be an exaggeration. Because no public place keeps it at 80°. Maybe below 75 or 72. But 80 is pretty warm for any inside place. Whether its summer or winter.

Guess you'll be spending allot of time with your head in the freezer.

I can definatly relate lol I'm anemic too and my room is never below 80 unless friends come over and then I'm in under a bunch of blankets trying to stay warm otherwise I shake horribly too

People with such terrible genetics shouldn't be allowed to reproduce

That's another FML for another time.
