Today, I opened my lunch in front of my friends at university. I had a note in my lunch from my mother that said "Have a good day sweetie! - Love mom". I wrote that note, and put it in my lunch to impress my friends. FML

Today, I came home for lunch. I saw a sandwich on the table with a note saying, "I hope we can have a healthy new relationship, Love, Carissa." I saw another note from my girlfriend next to it saying, "I hope you enjoy your new relationship with Carissa." Carissa is my new step-mother. FML

Today, I sent a love letter I'd written meant for my crush to a friend so she could evaluate my prose before I actually sent it to him. For some reason, my emotions got the best of me, and I mistakenly CC'd my mom. She replied with three crying-with-laughter emojis. FML

Today, I got a perfect score on my French quiz, and I was told to have my mom sign it. What I didn't realize was that all the way at the bottom she wrote "Good Nathaly!" and "I love you!" surrounded by little hearts. The teacher hung it up anyway. FML

Today, I sent the girl I like a Twinkie with a note saying "Enjoy! You deserve it". I found out later through an angry email that someone had written "you damn fatty" on the end of the note. FML

Today, I got flowers sent to my work, I happily opened them in front of my co-workers thinking they were from my crush, I open the card to see "Love you, from mom". My mother thinks my love life is so pathetic, thats she needs to send me flowers to cheer me up. FML

Today, I gathered the courage and wrote a love letter to put in the girl I like's school bag, at the end of classes. I felt anxious for a response. Her bag turned out to be her cousin's, and I became a joke in the classroom. FML

Today, I brought my lunch to work in the only box I had lying around my apartment - a small one from FedEx. When I went to the bathroom before lunch, I returned to my desk to find that one of my coworkers had mailed my lunch back to my apartment. FML

Today, it was my first day on duty as a rookie cop. Everything was going great, and even the veterans on the force were warming up to me. That is until my mother came into the station carrying a brown bag for my lunch. Written on the bag was, "Lunch for my big boy. I love you, pumpkin." FML

Today, I was working my shift at a fancy restaurant and it had been a really hard day. My parents came in to have dinner and surprise me. After paying, they left a note saying they would see me at home. It also said "By the way, no tip, because you stink at serving." FML

i don't see how that would impress anybody, and i also don't see how "today i did something pointless and dweeby" is exactly FML-worthy. is it meant to be like, "i'm such a loser i write myself fake notes from my mother because i think that's cool"? i still don't understand why anyone would do that unless they were maybe six.

it's funny cuz when she was younger kids probably laughed at her and she was embarrassed when her mom left a note. Now, she's older and she can appreciate how thoughtful that was. She's really a dork. And not the dork back from elementary or high school. She's a dork of the undergraduate kind. And that's cool!

...okay, so this might seem a bit forward of me. And I know this isn't Craig's List. However... First, FYL. Second, ignore the haters. Third, if this is the level of impressing your standard is set at in accordance with fulfilling whatever void you feel in your own life... may I just say that I am *fantastic* in bed, and think I can help you. I'll even be sure to put on George Michael, for that extra element of spiritual-fulfillment-via-coitus he promises ever-so-silkily in that man-musk voice of his. Easy-win for both of us. Just something to think about; self-esteem is at stake here.
