Today, I phoned my bank. The person wouldn't speak to me about my account as I "sound female" despite being a year 30-old-male. They had to get a supervisor and listen to recordings of past calls to believe me. This isn't the first time I've been mistaken for a girl on the phone. FML

If I had a nickel for every time I’ve been called ma’am over the phone, I’d be rich, and I’m a 32 year old dude myself. So you’re not alone.

And 30 years later, do you still have the tiniest penis among all your brothers?

I suggest going to the bank or the next time you call, have someone make a FYI note on your profile about your "feminine voice" to save you the trouble of having to go through this every time. You might still be questioned a bit more than the average person, but at least this way, they are aware of it whenever you call.

maybe you should start your own 900 number and next time they call tell them it will be $9 the first minute and $5 / minute after that.

Why don't they just ask the normal security questions?

Bullshit. Just because a bank keeps call recodings for "quality purposes" doesn't mean a supervisor can bring them up while a customer is on the phone.
