Today, I picked up my car from the repair shop, drove two miles, and ran out of gas. I then walked to get gas, put a gallon of gas in the car, and tried to start it. The battery was too weak to start the car, and died on the spot. FML

Times like this make me glad AAA exists.

Perhaps an investment in jumper cables would be more ideal.

Like a good neighbor, State Farm is there. State Farm, here to help you one Car fail at a time. In your case, two. I heard if you sing the jingle, someone will poof and help you. So.. Start singing!

It's nothing that a set of jumper cables can't fix.

Maybe it's time to invest In a new car...

So you are too incompetent to put gas in your car before you run out, so it must be the fault of the repair shop! When your battery is low, you are warned when you try to start it. The engine turns over slower than usual. At that point you buy a new battery. You can fix a car, but you can't fix dumb. Maybe the bus is a better option for you.

Oh yes. Because when I am frustrated and having car problems, to make my life more miserable and difficult, I totally will forget to put gas in my car just to make myself waste time and money. Guess it makes us dumb if We just happen to have a bad day. Yup.

Sounds like a frustrating day!! hope it gets better.

I think you need a new mechanic ASAP. It seems odd to me that nobody at the garage is interested enough in the cars or the clients to remind you you're low on gas or just pour in a splash on the house to get you to a gas station of your choice. Ever heard of a car repair shop without gasoline? Not me. If you started the car before leaving & didn't notice the Low Fuel light, YDI. If the Low Fuel light needed replacing & they missed it, why are you trusting them with your car? Just find a new mechanic, one who won't let a client drive his fuel-injected vehicle away on Empty. No doubt your fuel pump is electric & your battery died trying to pump from an empty tank or too much cranking. Your bogus repair shop let all of this transpire; shame on them. FYL.

Uhhh, what repair facility have you ever gone too that gives away free gas? its not like topping off the washer fluid, gasoline is much more expensive. and some cars do not even have a low gas warning lamp to begin with. I feel like you are the type of person that goes into a shop or anywhere that provides a service just looking for something you can blame them for.

If you are to dumb to realise ur car needs gas to run then it's hardly the repair shops fault and most shops don't keep enough has on premises to be of any use they might keep deseil as u need to fill a deisel fuel filter before u install it but there is no need to kelp gas as for the battery if he came in for a wheel bearing why would they check that so long as it started for them . Ppl will call u a crook if u tell them all the things wrong with there car and useless if u don't so we only do wats asked of us and only tell them the related problems
