Today, I proudly gave my grandma a picture I had drawn for her. She didn't seem thrilled with it, and afterwards the rest of my family seemed upset. Nobody could fathom why I drew grandma a picture of a graveyard for her 85th birthday. It was suppose to be a bridge. FML

I'm trying so hard, darling, and I just can't picture in my head how anyone could make out a graveyard from a bridge... Also...why would you draw your grandmother a bridge in the first place? It just seems like an odd drawing...unless she was an architect back in her day or something.

Did you draw R.I.P on the bridge?

Haha, why would you draw someone a bridge for their birthday? Unless it was of some special significance to her... but yeah it was a nice idea anyway - homemade presents are the best. Sorry it went ****-up though :P

**** up? Never heard that expression before. How did **** up become a bad thing? Were they boy **** or man boobs? Sigh! I'm seeking enlightenment on FML.

i'm gonna have to say i quite like that expression. |the kid|

why on earth would you paint a bridge for her? total ydi.

Maybe for Easter you can draw her some dead bunnies. And for Christmas, a nice Menorah. Makes as much sense to me.

They were upset that you were too cheap to buy Grandma a gift. When all else fails, iTunes Gift Card. Everyone loves those! Surely, Granny has one of those old-timey iPods with the ginormous click wheel and a hard drive inside which she syncs with her Flower Power iMac with the orthopedic mouse.

Or better yet! An iTunes card with a picture of a bridge on it! Bridges improve any gift.

#35 I don't think anyone can top that! xD

Dear Grandma, here's this drawing of a random ass bridge for you on your 85th birthday. I knew you would appreciate it more than a flat screen or car. From, Johnny.

because getting an 85 year old a car is always a great idea. unless its say, a collectible from their younger years they just wanted as a trophy of sorts.

I was just wondering that. If the OP is about 8 then this would make sense. If not, why the **** would you give your grandma a bloody awful drawing for her birthday? Are you actually THAT broke? Was this drawing a replacement for a birthday card? And why a bridge of all things? Unless she's some sort of unusual bridge enthusiast then I have no idea why any old woman would want even a fantastic rendition of a bridge. Also OP, there is a saying called "crossing the bridge" , WHICH IS A EUPHEMISM FOR DEATH . I expect this may be why your grandma was upset by it.

I think it was your attached note that raised eyebrows. Dear Grandma, Here's a bridge. Please find it and jump off it, so I can finally collect my inheritance, for Chrissakes!

WTF? A bridge? And if your bridge is so horrible that it looks like a graveyard, you're either really young or you absolutely suck at drawing. YDI.
