Today, I ran over a squirrel. I saw it twitching, so I backed over it to end its suffering. It wasn't a squirrel; it was a kitten. The children it belonged to watched as I ran over their kitten. Twice. FML

you did the right thing. even though the kids are ****** up it's better to not let the kitten suffer. RIP KITTY!

This is why I keep my kitty inside... a) so she doesn't get hurt (from other cats, bigger birds, cars etc) and b) so it wouldn't traumatise people if she ran out onto the road and c) so she doesn't hunt native wildlife. By the way! I'm not cruel by keeping her inside for all those "haters", I make sure she gets to go outside at least once every two days for around 30 minutes under supervision (either by me or my mother) and also she's a ragdoll cat. If ragdolls run into other animals they won't defend themselves as well as other cats can. I feel sorry for this driver though :( I couldn't imagine running over an animal, let alone a cat. I'm just saying, I keep my kitty cat inside so this doesn't happen to others. :)

You did the right thing by trying to end its suffering, though. I probably would have gotten out of the car first, to see if t would live, but at least you didn't drive off while the poor thing was in agonizing pain.

wow. the cat most likely would have survived, if it wouldn't for you backing over it. how inhumane can you be? this is your fault. you should feel absolutely HORRIBLE. that poor, helpless, cute, little, baby kitten. how evil do you have to be to do that and not checking on it first? those poor, little kids are going to be TRAUMATIZED by your action for the rest of their life. who knows how recently they got that kitten. it could have been the kitten of their dreams. it could have been the only pet that their parents could ever afford. you should get your license taken away. you are suppose to LOOK WHERE YOU ARE DRIVING. NO MATTER THE CIRCUMSTANCES. what you did, is horrible. and do not think i am "over reacting". gosh, i hope you pay for this by having recurring nightmares about this over and over and over again for the rest of your life and have to relive every emotion you felt from it. i'm not being rude, i'm telling the truth. yes it might be harsh, but it's the truth.

#248 Sometimes you have to be cruel to be kind. It most likely would have died, and what he did was for the best. It sucks that the kids were there, but most likely they will get over it in a couple of weeks. He most likely was watching where he was going, but stuff happens. A kitten is small and should not have been allowed on the road in the first place. Don't blame the dude cause it's sad. Life happens.

Comment moderated. But that's still pretty sad.. ????

It would most likely end up dying anyways and suffering, so I guess you kind of did the right thing.

Ooo that's awful! Poor thing, poor kids, and poor you! It would have most likely ended up suffering and dying anyway after the first time so in a way you did kind of do the right thing, just without realizing it and of course the kids were watching....I can only imagine how bad you must feel. So sorry! :(
