OP here. Thanks lol. That's actually exactly what I was doing. I'm only 21, and I work in a very professional office, and I always need to look my best. I can't afford new shoes at the time, so that's why I sharpied them.

Hey! I do that and I'm not poor
Pretty sure Sharpies are the same price if not more than shoe polish. Plus the shoe polish will shine and give a uniform look while protecting the leather. If you're that poor you should take care of what you already own!
OP here. To everyone who says that sharpies are expensive, they are. But I never said that it was my sharpie to begin with lol. I asked my friend if I could borrow hers. My dress shoes are from high school and I noticed they finally were getting a bit worn out, so I needed a quick fix, and just did the first thing that came to mind. The sharpie actually made them look pretty good. I am new shoes soon, once things are paid off since all my money right now is going to bills, gas, and groceries, and I mainly have the internet because of school. Also, I don't know where people are getting that I own a smart phone, because I don't. I have a Samsung T404G, which is a cheap Walmart Straight Talk phone. I can't stand smart phones. It's fun being an adult, is it not? :)
People have been marked as Canadian for weird reasons, I'm not too sure why, though. YAY CANADIANS!!!!!!! I is from Canada. Eh?
i live on my own and am a student so i completely understand how much a dollar can stretch. This by no means is an FML - i had to go through half this winter with torn boots, having to dry my feet under anonymous hand dryers because it was ridiculous to buy an expensive pair at the time. Having to use a sharpie on your shoes for spots is nothing, at least they're durable and they complete their function at the end of the day. no need to get a new pair unless that stops.
