Today, I realized how poor I am when I had to use sharpies to color in the worn spots on my dress shoes before leaving for work. FML

OP here. Thanks lol. That's actually exactly what I was doing. I'm only 21, and I work in a very professional office, and I always need to look my best. I can't afford new shoes at the time, so that's why I sharpied them.

I do that all the time. I live in a 2 story house, no biggie. It's because it takes too much time to Properly fix them!

i do that to my shoes for work, why should i spend my money on nasty looking shoes for work when tjey get ruined within a week? (i work wth kids)

Poor !! Its okay we understand you can't afford it

I once hot glued parts of the rubber to the canvas on my converse because they had gotten that great "beat in" look and wasn't willing to pay $55 for a new pair and have to wait til they were broken in.

I wouldn't say poor, smart maybe

How about thinking of she has an old one or possibly an old Android? What if she's on someone else's plan? What if she's already paid off the phone? Also, don't forget, New shoes are expensive.

I did the same to a pair of spot-bleached pants.
