I don't think it has as much to do with strength as it does flexibility. I'm fairly strong, and even I've gotten a bad muscle cramp or torn a muscle doing even the most basic things, all because I wasn't flexible enough. Now it's not a problem, but definitely something you should look into, if it can help.
