Big tattoo rule- never get your spouses name tattooed on you. Your marriage may not be permanent, but the tattoo is.

this comment makes me want to cry. when did marriage become a disposable thing? I am aware that sometimes there really are legitimate reasons for divorce, like abuse, etc. but really, what happened to "till death do us part" and "for better or for worse…" my parents just had their 30th wedding annaversary. sure they're relationship isn't perfect, but when they fight, they work it out, not divorce! how did marriage become so cheap that people expect it to end before they've even made the vows! everyone is saying that she shouldn't get a tattoo because chances are he's about to divorce her. really? because they're fighting? unless it's unbearably excessive fighting, why should divorce even come to mind? if the marriage really means something special to them, they should be able to work it out with some effort from both sides. for the most part anyway. ok. my little rant is over. this is my opinion which, seeing as its a free country, I'm entitled to. I'm curious about other people's opinions also, but please don't make this one of those threads where everyone attacks each other… I hate those.

OP, you never discussed the tattoo idea with your husband? It would have been a good idea. Ah! And Never get a tattoo with someone's name or face on it, unless thet are your kids'. But again, you might have learned your lesson already.

That's the biggest mistake you could do for a tattoo. What if you guys got a divorce? You'll be stuck with his name forever.

You never get a spouse, boyfriend, fiance's name tattooed on you. The only names should be someone related to you that you care about like your mom or grandparents, kids, or if someone died.
