Sweet! Now ya can hold them! Yay
Ich can sometimes hide within the gills. In those cases, the infestation may not be obvious until several fish have already died. Always quarantine!
happend to me too
I work in a pet store and I hear folks on here keep talking about a quarantine tank. Though it's a good idea and I myself do it, some people don't have the space or money to do so. In this case, I recommend a product called "Melafix." It's a medicine to treat most fish problems but you can also cut the dosage in half and use it as a preventative, if you must put the new fish in with your tank immediately. I also recommend backing a bottle of "Ick Cure" on hand, just in case.
That's why you always quarantine new fish for a few weeks.
Fish AIDS: the next deadly epidemic
Isn't that why your supposed to put them in a separate tank before you add them!! D. A.
