Today, I received a few new fish for my aquarium as presents for my birthday. It just so happened that these fish were carrying diseases that left me with a tank full of dead fish. Happy birthday. FML

You know, I said both FYL and YDI. It's sad, and it shouldn't have happened...but the others are right. Quarantining is a sort of essential process. Fish stores do it, as will any respectable hobbyist. Learn from this and do better with your next tank.

If you get new fish, you're supposed to keep them in an isolation tank for a week. You're also supposed to have a heater set to about 80°F. Both help prevent your problem
