Today, I received a phone call from the counselor at my son's preschool, requesting that I come pick him up. He was barking incessantly at his classmates. And when they asked him to stop, he growled. FML

Op here, definitely looking into a new program for him! At first this one seemed great but now I realize they're super uptight.

I would think he is just playing around pretending he is a dog, often you see children pretending to be a dog or copying them when they grow up with them , do you even own a dog?

Looks like everyone's having a ruff time because of him...

That's a little excessive,I mean he's a kid they could have let him do it...I doubt it was really a huge disturbances...

I wouldn't worrie about it my son pretends to be cat and meows all the time

My ex boyfriend would hide under his desk and meow like a kitty when he was in kindergarten. It's a normal thing kids go through.

It's no big deal as long as he doesn't hurt anybody. Kids love to pretend they're animals. I used to pretend my friends and I were pokemons, not trainers... but pokemons. Just tell him that while in class he can't be a dog and that's all.

At least it's preschool and not high school.

Mommy here :) I also personally thought this was really cute. We recently adopted a puppy and he is completely obsessed with her. He pretends to be a dog all the time. It's an FML because preschool freaked out about it rather than letting my three year old be a three year old. They're so uptight! We might be looking into a new program soon if they continue to overreact.

I hope you find a better program OP. (: good luck.

It seems to me the people at your current program are pretty overreacting about something I would consider okay for a 3yo to do. Good luck in findig a better program for your son :)

At first I was really excited about this program because it was a new big budget project here in town, and since he has epilepsy, I thought it would be perfect. Boy was I wrong! They're so frustrating. This might have been the straw that broke the camels back.

As a preschool worker, I see nothing wrong so long as he wasn't biting, scratching or terrifying the other kids. Even if so, his teachers should be redirecting him and helping his imagination grow positively.

My son would sniff other kids butts when he was in dog mode! I would have preferred barking. Kids being kids.

It's fucken preschool! Let the kid be a kid for a little while. He didn't hurt anybody.
