Today, I returned from a week-long vacation. My landlord told me he had let my boyfriend in my apartment to get something. I don't have a boyfriend. Everything in my apartment is gone. FML

You can report your landlord for that. Letting someone into your residence without your knowledge or permission is a crime.

Call the police, then call a lawyer and sue the landlord for allowing someone not on the lease in the apartment. they are not legally allowed to do that

Bingo. Calling the police is important so you have a record of the crime enabled by your inept landlord when you take that moron to court.

If she had renter's insurance, yes. But insurance shouldn't have to pay--it's the landlord's fault. Even if she did have a boyfriend, he had no right to let him in.
