Maybe it's because you were one too many in her line. When I worked at Safeway, if a 4th person came into your line, you had to call for backup. If you didn't, you got chastised.
Ouch chastised? I reserve that word for serious situations.
#30 To the managers, it was serious. To the cashiers, it was like a joke. They seriously would get really pissed and give you a stern warning. And cashiers can get fired for that kind of ridiculous stuff if "rules" like that are ignored enough.
Man you are really growing up nerds. Nice to see... ;-)
This isnt necesarily a bad thing OP, just man up, be yourself and talk to her.
"Oh God, it's Stalkzilla approaching. We need more cashiers to the counters, STAT!"
You should give her some space. You're probably a bit over obsessive and you don't even know or your cashier is paranoid.
Something tells me there's more to this story that couldn't be described in 300 characters.
she's playin' hard to get.
Bitch.
It could be two things. Either you meant the limit she can have in a line was reached, in which case YDI for thinking everything has to be about you, or you come off as creepy, in which case YDI for being creepy.
I fail to see either of those as valid reasons. The first one I don't see how she could have met her limit of customers when the key work in the FML was "immediately" so it had to be too much of a coincidence for her to call for backup. Secondly how is he making all about him when most of these kind of FMLs the person(OP for example) that has a crush on a person(the girl at the register) doesn't know it? Lastly, I doubt she would have thought he was being creepy for the reason I said above.

Ugh, I hate it when my my replies and/or posts get double posted.
Wait, I've had cashiers call for new lines when I've shown up in the past. They must all be conspiring to avoid me.
Actually, where i work, when there is now than two people in your line you have to call for back up. So he might have been person three, which then would make sense for her to immediately call back up.
Where I used to work, the second the third person walked in, you had to call for backup. I've seen it happen heaps of places, so I doubt this was actually a specific way to avoid op
