Today, I sent my girlfriend a text this morning saying I love you. I rarely do this and instead of receiving the same message back, I got a message from my girlfriend accusing me of meaning to send it to someone else and dumped me. FML

that isn't really a logical conclusion to make after a good morning text.. FYL

Fwoof that was a close call right OP? If she's that paranoid now imagine in another 20-30 years!

If you RARELY do it then maybe she thought that that's not like you to say that to her. Guys I know that saying I love you everyday to that especial person doesn't seem important but it is it is super important to always reassure them so they will never doubt that you do.

Those three words aren't said enough...

"They're not enough If I lay here If I just lay here Would you lie with me and just forget the world?"

I have to admit, my boyfriend rarely does the same thing, but when he does, I think it's sweet. Thinking he's cheating on me is way out of hand. Maybe she had low self esteem, OP?

Awe! She should have said, "You better, you better, you bet"

That's one way to start a morning my friend. And I agree with most people here, if that is her reaction then she is not for you man. Run for the hills.

I've been in relationships where the guy rarely showed any affection and I would find it striking and weird when he did and when you're in a relationship with someone that rarely shows any affection towards you, your insecurities kind of jump out.

YDI for not saying it often to the extent she panicked when she saw it, not saying she's right, just saying you should express it and say it more often
