I feel ya, man. One Monday, my boss asked me what I did over the weekend, and, being honest, I told him that I cleaned my house, because it was really needing it, and I rarely have time to do so on a regular basis. He then interpreted that to mean that I'm a professional maid service and pulled me away from lab work that I had scheduled for the rest of the day in order to clean the entire lab from top to bottom. Then, as an insulting slap to the face (not to mention addressing me as a maid instead of a lab technician for a few hours), he complained, after I had just started mopping, that I was "losing focus" on my work and shamed me back to the lab. Lesson learned: never tell your boss the truth about what you did over the weekend, especially when it involves cleaning something.
