Today, I showed my father a nice sweatshirt online, hoping he would take the hint and get it for me. He did, three sizes larger than mine, for himself. FML

Why not just ask him to buy it?

Why do people always expect other people to read their minds? Like they have a gift of clairvoyance.. pffft

Why not just ask him to buy it?

Because if OPs dad is anything like mine, OP would get a 10 minute lecture about how money doesn't grow on trees and to buy it with your own money

If his father were like that, why even bother hinting it?

Because straight up asking doesn't work, but hinting might get you what you want on your birthday or Christmas

Steal it... Or get money to buy it yourself.

Today, a person on FML told me to steal a sweatshirt. When I did, I was arrested. The trial is in a week. FML

I highly doubt if OP takes it from their dad, he'll press charges.

Yeah, steal it. You'll have the sweatshirt regardless of the fact that it won't fit you and will look stupid because it's literally hanging off of you.

Couldn't you have just asked him to get it for you? He's your dad, not a stranger!

Throw it into the dryer and shrink it to your size (or as close to it as you can get)! ;P

I have the gift. 5% of the time I am 100% right on what people are thinking.

Get a job and buy your own damn sweaters, free loader! Gosh! I bet you expect your father to feed you too!

Next time just ask can he buy it for YOU. Some people are oblivious to hints

Yeah, screw him for not getting that, apparently, "Look at this sweatshirt," means, "Buy me this sweatshirt." Don't expect people to take cryptic "hints" like that. Just say what you want.
