Today, I started a new job. The supervisor handed me a badge with the name 'Rachel' on it, which is not my name. When I told her this, she responded with, "I know, but it will be easier for the customers to pronounce than your actual name." FML

Tell them "My name is Kunta Kinte!"

well... that bites, OP. you shouldn't have to take a fake name just so people don't have to worry about pronouning your name right or wrong.

Better. your name is probably Asychtiozuyla

In your profile picture, it appears Justin Bieber has lost some weight. In relation to your comment, her name is probably so extreme, our keyboards can't even process the characters necessary to form her name. ... OP is an alien!

I work in customer service and my name is not hard to pronounce but if you are trying to read it the spelling is wierd (thanks mom) i still wear it on my name badge when i see people squinting at it i just tell em my name but if OPs name is hard to pronounce then they should have let her choose a nick name

Every time someone reads your name badge, you ought to sing that Ting Ting's song, "That's Not My Name" or if you are in a melancholy mood, go with David Allan Coe's "You Never Even Called Me By My Name."

its the Aussie way. we worked with "george" because no one could get his name right :)

you mean they didn't automatically decide to call him Bruce??!? (blame Monty Python)
