that's actually a myth, however you've even got the myth wrong. When you shave hair it appears to grow in darker because as opposed to growing in naturally and tapering to a point like normal hair, it has a blunt edged due to being cut by the razor. Waxing pulls the hair out at the root and therefore when it grows back would not appear any darker than the hair before.

its normal- and trust me, other people wont see it as clearly as you do. you may think that its "omg so dark and awful and hairy", but i can bet that no one else is even going to notice, or care for that matter.

How is this an FML? EVERYONE grows hair on their upper lip, even girls.

I've had this problem since I was about nine, so don't feel bad. My best advice is to wax. Just be sure if you are on an acne medication to go off for a week and moisturize your lip well so you don't rip your skin off. (:

don't feel like a freak, pretty much all girls grow hair there we(yes i am one of them) just pluck it or wax it don't shave it though lol

actually it is a myth. i'm a hair dresser and shaving it doesn't make it grow thicker. the ends are blunt, as the other person said, so it appears thicker. your dumb...google it.

Why don't you grow a pair and wax it, OP?

Wax it! It's a little painful, but you get used to it. That or have someone wax it for you. And bleach in between waxings when it's too short and not enough to wax, but still noticeable.

Actually don't wax it, have it threaded! It hurts just as much but is much nicer to your skin.

I feel your pain, just try to ignore it when people talk to it instead of you, because it's bound to happen

Don't feel bad. You should see my Mom.

Why don't you get it removed for good? Laser I think.

I don't think that laser removal gets rid of it for good. I may be wrong but i'm pretty sure that it just removes it from the roots like waxing but it's painless and expensive.
