Today, I thought it would be a good idea to take a short cut driving through the snow. I skidded to avoid an oncoming car and ended up in someone's garden, inches from their brand new extension. The house belonged to a police officer. FML

Just because women are better at owning their shit does not suddenly make men better drivers. We rarely get snow in Vancouver so when we got a good dump of it last week things were horrible. Yet what did we see? People driving on snow and black ice as if it was the middle of summer time. Men and women get into the same number of accidents but men are more likely to hit and run while women are more likely to report even mild fender benders that do not need reporting. In this case the OP deserves it for taking a short cut. When the weather is bad - slow the **** down and stay on roads you are familiar with.

I hate to add to the mindless sexism that consumes FML, but seriously....it seems like every post that involves shitty driving involves a female. just an observation ladies.

and by the way...what is an extension?

A bit that's added onto a house, eg you've extended your house by adding another room or conservatory.

ydi for taking a 'short cut' in the first place

Lucky OP, I was in Scotland for a year, the snow never stuck because of how wet the ground was from the shitloads of rain...

Since when does a whole country experience the same weather throughout? I have family living on the west, the Highlands, the north east, and I live on the east. None of us experience the same weather, not even now!

They were talking about the area they went to...

I sympathise with you because the roads are currently hellish in Scotland, even the motorways are down to one lane. However, to an extent YDI, you should be sticking in previous tire tracks, and seriously taking shortcuts in this crappy weather (especially if it involves B-roads) not a good idea!

HE deserves it for having a house. You should have wrecked that shit.
