I'm so sorry OP. Years ago I told by boyfriend (at the time) about my dad's colon cancer. He then said "oh he has butt cancer?" I was so furious and fought with him I swear I must have been spitting fire. He apologized for the insensitivity (after the fact I was so furious) but I dumped him because I knew a person like that was not someone I wanted to be with. Which worked out great for me because the very next boyfriend was so supportive and helped me through my dad's illness up until his death. We have been together for 5 years now. You're better off without him OP.
