I think you're very brave and clearly a committed husband to be. It's also not that much of a crazy thing, it used to be quite common for couples to go by whichever name had a higher social position. And that's just western cultures, many other cultures have different norms.

What about taking both last names and creating a completely new last name with all or perhaps most of the letters of the old last names?
