Today, I told the girl working the scanner that half the documents I was indexing from her were upside down. Now ALL of them are upside down. FML

Can't you instruct her on how to properly scan said documents? Nonetheless that's quite interesting that she's working the scanner but doesn't know how it works... Haha

it's actually very easy to flip the document. I make the same mistake when scanning things at work.

Except that that logic would work about as well as a single tissue in the face of an oncoming train, and any manager, supervisor, or other superior would do something as punishment. Docked pay, redo training (which it sounds like the girl needs anyway), or even firing her. Unless you are being sarcastic in which case... It was a bad joke.

Maybe not over a single flipped document, but if the persons SOLE job is to scan documents, and they ****** up so bad that they first scanned a document with some pages upside down, and then an entire document with EVERY page upside down, how many documents out of their workday do they actually scan correctly? Answer: probably not very many, which considering their job is to scan documents in a way that streamlines everyone else's work, if the person was to say something as snarky as 23 suggested in 'defense' it very likely WOULD get them fired at a lot of businesses. For, you know, not doing their job correctly and then being rude and snarky, as well as refusing to take responsibility for their **** up.

How is that an FML? Now they're all the same orientation, so you can rotate the pages in the doc all at once instead of having to do every other page.

just flip them digitally. it's not hard

If it's in Kofax Capture or something similar, it's not difficult just tedious to have to go back to the scanning stage and flip them when it should have been done correctly or checked in QC. I index a lot at work so feel your pain.
