i guess even if it wasn't awkward, he probably would've found it to be unsafe driving, since you didn't have your hand at the steering wheel. If you still passed, congratulations! otherwise, good luck on your next time!
It's all good op i'm sure the instructor understood.
still a better love story than twilight
2008 called. They want their joke back.
The 'The ___ called, they want their ___ back' joke is much older than the 'Still a better love story than Twilight' joke.
As a learner - you shouldn't take your hands off the wheel except to change gear or do something quick like that. I hope you failed. YDI.
A little harsh, considering that OP was nervous and had a habit of holding her boyfriend's hand. How difficult would it be to move her hand from his to change gears anyway? She's obviously done it enough while driving.
Not every vehicle requires you to change gears, and if she's holding hands because she's nervous that's even more dangerous. Nervous drivers (as well as most other drivers) should have both hands on the wheel not just one. Their reaction time will be effected if they had to respond quickly and that extra second needed to move their hands back to the wheel may be to long. They do deserve to fail their test, the instructors job is to pass safe drivers that exhibit an ability to to follow the rules of the road.
Not to say that two wrongs make a right, but I've seen PLENTY of people with licenses who drive unsafely. It's one thing to say 'If you failed, you deserved it.' It's another to say 'I hope you fail.'
Personally I hope they did fail, as you pointed out there is a lot of bad drivers already, their "habit" is a hazard and not safe driving... so they should be failed and not over looked. How is saying "I hope you failed for bad driving" any different then "you failed? YDI for unsafe driving."?
Hopefully you still passed! I failed my first time taking the test because I was used to shifting the farm truck and took the test in an automatic. Out of habit, I took my hand off the wheel to shift...
Two hands on the wheel!
and then you shoot your cousin.
Huh?
I'm sure your bf taught you how to drive stick in a automatic too right?
You mean as well as an automatic
in most states the person riding with you has to have had their license for 5 years and be a parent or guardian and they have to be in the front seat. assuming op has their permit they shouldnt have been driving with him anyway.
The consequences for doing so are severe in most states for good reason. In NJ if are caught driving with some who hasn't at least had a license for 4 years your ability to go for your test isn't for another 3-4 years. That was when I tested for my permit fairly sure there is still something similar in most states.
I thought u were going somewhere else with tjat

"Accidentally". Well that's one way to get a passing score.
Could be worse. You could have accidentally reached over and grabbed his willy!!!
