Today, I took off the training wheels of my niece's bike. I tried to show her how to ride it, but she told me to get off because I needed a "fat girl's bike." FML

Aww these little kids. Why do we find them so cute when they say the most offensive things. Anyway at least riding a bike is a good head start to loose weight.

Well then u better get yourself a fat girls bike

Those are the priceless moments of 'kids say the darnest things'. Kids say random truthful stuff all the time because they don't have that filter to think if a comment is appropriate or not before they say it. She probably said it because you are obviously too tall for her bike. Even if you are heavy I still think her comment is very innocent and cute and you shouldn't be overly offended by it. I don't think she said it to hurt you.

Even if she didn't mean to be rude, her comment is hardly 'cute.' You need to teach kids from a young age that statements like that hurt people's feelings, or else they're going to continue doing it long after the time when it was considered 'innocent.'

And then they'll get beat up.

No way, that's not cute at all! That's the kind of thing that needs to be corrected. I'm sorry, but rude children are not pleasant to be around and grow up to be rude teenagers and adults. If she's old enough to ride a bike without training wheels, she's old enough to be held accountable for saying mean things especially to get her way, especially to her aunt that was helping her.

Well good god tons of fun get off the damn bike

It's hard for an adult to fit on a kiddie bike. But if you really are fat: It's funny because she's fat!

she probably didnt mean it. people say things they dont mean when they are scared

Ouch. But most likely, you're three times her size because you're an adult. I doubt you're morbidly obese. It's a matter of personal choice.

My 8 year old has never been taught the word fat to use in such a context... of course my child is taught by ME and not by tv. I can see my daughter saying "Mooooom you are too big to ride my bike" and meaning I am literally to tall to big to ride a bike meant for a little girl. ASSuming your niece has just been watching too much tv or whatnot, I would assume she means you are too tall, too big not too fat.

As Queen said, fat-bottomed girls make the rockin' world go 'round. They also make little girls' bicycle tires go flat, apparently.

Which was also paired with "Bicycle Race." Of course, Queen didn't have to deal with issues of bent frames and broken axles.
