This isn't so bad if you have a yard to keep the duck in. If you are in an apartment, and the duck is old enough, can you drive to a pond or lake and drop him off?

I think it would be pretty cool to have a duck. It reminds me of the post about the guy that wanted a duck and got out to get one. He was so happy with his duck!

While it may seem a bit strange at first, having a pet duck can actually be pretty cool. At least it isn't a goose - those can be mean as hell.

You don't eat your pets. There is a difference between animals raised specifically for food and "killing fido or quackers, cause it didnt work out."

I have quite a few ducks. they make awesome pets. they certainly wont last very long in the city, so you should give it to a family that lives in the country before you leave it. maybe give it to a child around 5 or so with the parents permission. the make great first pets as there really isnt a lot of work to take care of them and children love them.
