I actually have to say "good job OP, keep it up" and also "You deserve it" in the same post. Let me explain, im a fitness expert and I do personal training for my job. Here's why it's "good job OP": You are exercising at all. Most fat people don't even get to that stage, they use all sorts of excuses as to why they won't. (and no offense about being fat, I was fat at one point too! Now I'm 5% bodyfat, and have a sexy body. I'm not going to sit here and say I'm the *BEST* athlete- genetics only take a man so far- but my body is attractive to women, I'm getting laid, and I look good and feel good, so that's enough for me! AND MOST IMPORTANTLY FOR YOU, REMEMBER- DON'T LET THE "NEGATIVE" FAT PEOPLE DISCOURAGE YOU- YOU KNOW, THE ONES WHO SAY "ITS NOT WORTH WORKING OUT, CUZ US FAT PEOPLE HAVE GENETICS OR PROBLEMS WHICH MAKE US STAY FAT". I learned awhile back that 1- less than 1% of all fat people CANNOT get in shape medically, and 2- that was just an excuse the "negative" fat people made, so they felt like less of a loser for looking and acting like they do.) Although you are not exercising in the right PLACE- i'll get to that- you are still EXERCISING, which is a huge thumbs up and "**** yeah" no matter what. You should feel really good. Keep it up ========================================= Here is why it's a "you deserve it": First, it's not so much a "you deserve it" as much as more of "well, you simply should have looked up how to exercise right, before you just started" but its not really your fault for ignorance (unless you ignore this now), since I KNOW ITS HARD TO GET THE RIGHT INFO. But let me explain: 1- Working out in your house is a very bad place. WORKING OUT IS LIKE EATING. What's more enjoyable... eating at your HOUSE, eating bland boring food... or eating at a restaurant, with a great atmosphere, variety, anticipation, and almost an obligation to eat? SAME WITH EXERCISE. WHEN YOU EXERCISE AT HOME, YOU HAVE NO ANTICIPATION, NO DRIVE, NO OBLIGATION, NO PUMPED UP ATMOSPHERE, AND NO COMPETITION, AND NO TESTOSTERONE (OR IN FEMALES, SIMPLY EXERCISE HORMONES) PUMPING. But if you are at a GYM? Even a cheap $5 a day rec center is GREAT, if you don't have a car? You DRIVE to the gym, which is psychologically conditioning your body to know it's going to work out, the entire 5 or 10 minute car drive there. Which you may say "I dont wanna drive 10 minutes" but LET ME TELL YOU, AS FORMER FAT PERSON, THAT CONFIDENCE AND PSYCHOLOGICAL BUILD UP IS ACTUALLY NECESSARY. Then once you GET THERE? You can't use the excuse of any distractions. You can't turn around and head home- that would be wasting gas. There is POSITIVE SOCIAL PRESSURE- you feel GOOD about working out hard/pushing yourself to the MAX and feel bad about being lazy (people watching you, you think), you feel good about staying anywhere between 1 to 2 hours and bad about ducking out early, and there is this MOTIVATION from the people there. And the ATMOSPHERE is good, the clinking of machines and the running of the treadmill make you feel IMPORTANT in the community. Your all doing this TOGETHER. You may not talk to people much, but whether or not you do, that good feeling is there! All you have to do is smile confidently/happily at the desk attendant when you sign in, and when they smile back, YOUR IN. You already feel important. And lastly: Really quickly- a good exercise routine for a fat person consists of UPPER BODY LIFTING 2 days a week, AB WORKOUTS 4 days a week, LOWER BODY LIFTING 2 days a week, and RUNNING/CARDIO 5 DAYS A WEEK. Then once your in better shape, up it to 3 days UPPER BODY, 3 days LOWER BODY, 5 days AB WORKOUTS, 6 days RUNNING/CARDIO.

You sound like you have a very high opinion of yourself.

139, MrWrestler8, you just posted my new favourite thread. Very well said, and I love the amount of detail you included! No mention of dietary habits or food intake though? I used to be 80 pounds overweight myself, and tweaking my diet helped the most for me. Either way, thanks for posting that! Cheers!

^ wrwrestler8, not MrWrestler8, my bad. :p

At least you are doing something! Keep it up, and good luck!

Poor construction! Keep going OP. If you have a basement clear some room and keep going. We had to move my tread mill to the basement. The wiring would flicker when I'd hit a run. Lol

You don't get overweight from demons or magic. I don't see how this can possibly be anything other than YDI.

Nothing wrong with that!! Well, so long as the walls don't come tumbling down on you. If it bothers you, lace up and go for a walk outside, and build up to jogging, then later, running! I did that two years ago and all the weight went away and now I'm training for a marathon! You can do it. Don't get discouraged. Doing something is amazing! Look forward and keep after it! The payoff will be fantastic.

Who cares?! You're moving faster than everyone sitting on the couch!

at least you're exercising but you might want to try jogging instead.

Doesnt matter how big or small you are if your house is poorly made. My 6year old 50lb daughter can make the floor shake jumping around in our living room.
