Today, I tried to tackle my fear of heights by riding a rollercoaster. Once we were near the top, it malfunctioned, causing it to stop, and we all had to get out and climb back down. My girlfriend laughed at me for how scared I was. FML

Today, I went to a theme park with my friends. I was excited to ride the rollercoasters, but just as we were about to get on the biggest one, I realized I'd had left my glasses in the car. I can't see shit without them, but I decided to go on the ride anyway. I spent the entire time screaming in terror while my friends laughed, while I couldn't see a thing. FML

that's a good way to get over your fears.

That truly is rough OP, I feel your pain. But at the end of the day, you can say you faced your fears head on, and thats something to be proud of.

Dude I don't blame you! I have a fear of heights too and that would terrify me! But at least you tried!

OP were you on the Rip, Ride, Rocket at Universal? I watched the news when that one broke down not too long ago. So scary!

For my next trick, I will be revealing my real name, as well as a bunch of email addresses.

Yep that happened to me too op, except I was vertical, almost upside down when it stopped and when after sitting there for 30 minutes it finally started moving and slowly went forward upside down at about 1mph and rocked us back and forwards for about 20 minutes resulting in severe motion sickness. The worst part was my brother was next to me and teased the cr*p out of me the whole time and saying it was going to fall and we would die! :/ I feel your pain op :)

Oh and also I couldn't stop thinking of final destination!

i didnt think they could stop after the initial climb since there is no propulsion or break system in the cars. maybe my understanding of their workings is out of datw though.

Maybe it's different in Australia? Not sure it was called the buzz saw on the goal coast :)

im sure ive seen one stop before. you hear about them getting stuck on all sorts of bits of track i just always thought they were free movement rides after thr ramp up. coaster do some amazing things nowadays so i guess not.

Fake. They would never get you to climb down because it's too dangerous without harnesses. They would make you sit there until they could get it moving or get emergency services to help you down. Stupid thing to lie about

You aren't afraid of heights. You're afraid of dying.

OP, as other comments have already said. It's not necessarily a fear of heights, but a fear of falling and dying which is PERFECTLY reasonable! It took balls to do what you did, keep trying to conquer you fears!

Well this was fun, but I have classes starting at twelve and I need some sleep. We'll continue this later. Have fun. Send me an email: [email protected]
