Well that sucks...I would be scared too...props for trying to over come it though...
I feel your fear of heights. I can't ride rides like California Screaming, but if rides are dark where I can't see the bottom, like Space Mountain, I'm fine. But one day, I'll try riding Tower of Terror for the second time, and actually have my eyes open. As they say, take baby steps right?
Your girlfriend is a bitch. So much for showing support.
One of my worst nightmares. Last time I was at a theme park we went on the ride, it was fine, we got off. Then the next time it went up, it was stuck for 30 minutes and the same thing happened as to you. Lucky escape!
Jeez, what an emotional roller coaster.
Wait, what? How big was this roller coaster? If its massive, and not like a shitty little parking lot carnival sized one, they usually don't just let you get out of it and climb down. At least not without some kind of safety harness/gear..I would hope. Unless you were literally right next to the maintenance stairs. They just make you wait till its fixed. :S FYL for the whole situation.

that's a good way to get over your fears.
That truly is rough OP, I feel your pain. But at the end of the day, you can say you faced your fears head on, and thats something to be proud of.
