Poor kittycat. FYL for having to see that but I kind of want to say YDI as well. Not that you deserve to have your cat killed, but I'm sure there were signs of hostility between your pets before that happened. Should've acted on that. If the dog did that out of the blue without those signs, that's pretty concerning.

I have always had dogs and cats together and never had a problem. They usually become very close. I'm sorry you had to see that.

I'm so sorry. for your loss but you should never leave your dog alone with a smaller creature. things like this happen. I've had something similar happen years ago when I was a child, except it was the neighbors dog. today, I lost two kittens. they died in my arms on the way to the emergency vets. unfortunately they're 40 miles away. I hope our cats are forever resting peacefully and playing in a nice sunny field.
