Oh, another fun fact! English winter is still cold because they're climate is more humid. The cold is wet so it soaks through. I've been told this by English people who have compared the English and Canadian winters. The prairies have a more dry cold. Sure, it sucks but it doesn't get through all the way to your skin. We throw on enough snow gear and we are pretty ok with the exception of the frost bitten bits of our faces that are exposed.
Shut up canadians please! Your climate and "Canada's" climates are so darned different, you can't compare them... It's like comparing the strength of Darth Vader to that of Hitler... Can you do it? NO. Put Hitler in space, he fails, Put Darthy on earth, he fails.... Different places, different situations guys!
lol, I agree with you except for the whole comparison of Darth Vader and Hitler. Unfortunately your win points went down a little, but I will give you a golden sticker for trying!
I think everyone seems to miss the point here in that she didn't have to trek all the over to her exam hall and her parents just let her do it for fun... for all everyone who hasn't been to Ireland or doesn't know how to look at a map, meath is a long way from dublin!
I might be being an idiot, but what does Dublin have to do with anything? I'm aware it's the Capital and all, but no one has mentioned it until you.
My bad, this happened in University College Dublin which is in Dublin (obviously). I know that because I go to college there and this happened, hence knowing she would have to get from meath to dublin which is ages away!
Fair enough, that does make sense. Though is it not possible it was another school?
nope we were the only uni with exams before x mas :)
Fair enough. I'd ask about schools such as Secondary or College, as we don't know how old the OP is, but I don't remember either having exams before Christmas, but then again I'm making the assumption you have the same exam procedures as us.
ha sorry bout the confusion, but nope you can almost time this one down to a 'T' of when it happened to me!
Cool. (Though surely if you're walking that far, you double check?)
agreed!
that's not that bad of a cold day
ok snow up to your ankles is nothing compared to what i get I get snow up to my shoulders
i would be thankful to have such a nice weather in mornings while i go to school
you'd never survive in chicago. I've walked to school way colder and snowier
Well, sure, it's not perfect... But it's definitely the best :)

Hahaha -5? wow you would not survive in Canada. It was -40°C a couple weeks ago
All the way up to your ankles? GASP! Maybe if you walked to school on your hands that would be impressive, but otherwise, you should omit that detail.
